Waste Transfer Stations
Council operates 2 Waste Transfer Stations sites:
- A general waste transfer station at Kondinin
Opening Hours - which are subject to change
Tuesday - 2.00pm to 6.00pm*
Thursday - 2.00pm to 6.00pm*
Saturday - 8.00am to 12.00noon
Sunday - 2.00pm to 6.00pm*
* Effective 11th May until 30th September afternoon closing times will be 5.00pm

Monday - 8.00am to 12.00noon
Wednesday - 2.00pm to 6.00pm*
Friday - 2.00pm to 6.00pm*
Saturday - 2.00pm to 6.00pm*
Sunday - 8.00am to 12.00noon

Rubbish/Recycling Collection Days/Times
The Shire provides a 120 litre bin kerbside collection service for the town sites of Kondinin, Karlgarin and Hyden. Bins are emptied each Monday. Residents are advised to place their bins with the wheels away from the kerb the evening before collection.
Bins for new dwellings or replacements can be ordered through the shire and will be delivered on the next pickup day.
The Shire also provide a 240 litre Recycle bin kerbside collection service for the townsites of Kondinin, Karlgarin and Hyden. Bins are emptied in Kondinin on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Bins are emptied in Karlgarin and Hyden on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month.
Council contracts Avon Waste services to provide this service.
Any complaints about this service should be directed to the Shire office.
Recycling
Council supports recycling. The following opportunities exist within the shire:
- Paper
- Glass
- Aluminum/tin cans - anything that a magnet sticks to
- Cardboard
drumMuster Collections
Kondinin Shire is a signatory to the drumMuster program and runs approximately two collections every year, one early and the other latter in the year. Contact the Shire for the next date.
drumMuster is program set up to collect cleaned chemical drums for processing to enable reuse of the materials the drums are made from. More information on this program including what drums are eligible and the cleanliness standard required can be found at www.drummuster.com.au
