The Western Australian Planning Commission is seeking community feedback on proposed changes to the State's Residential Design Codes (R-Codes). The review aims to simplify and modernise residential planning rules, support housing supply and choice, streamline development processes, and reduce unnecessary planning approvals while maintaining quality design outcomes.

Community members, local governments, industry and other stakeholders are encouraged to review the draft documents and have their say. Submissions are open until 5:00pm (AWST) on Friday 26 February 2027.

For more information and to make a submission, visit the R-Codes Review consultation page through the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage website.
